Description

Nestled in a forest of towering aspens, spruce and pines, this comfy 800 SF cabin’s close to Westcliffe, yet has ready access to National Forest hiking trails that lead to several alpine lakes. Built on a well-groomed 1.34-acre lot-the largest in Tanglewood Acres, a friendly, tight knit community of about 40 seasonal getaways-this summer-only cabin is a rare find. The land alone is worth $85,000, and provides ample space to build-on, if desired. The cozy, one-bedroom cabin has a spacious loft, large 3/4 bath, living room, kitchen and dining area, and can sleep up to 10 people. Lucky owners will spend a lot of time on the huge wraparound deck, enjoying quiet, soul-restoring days in Colorado’s stunning Sangre de Cristo mountains. The drive to this property is just as “Colorado” as it gets, via county-maintained roads overarched by tall trees. Cross Goodwin Creek through the area's only covered bridge and you're in secluded Tanglewood Acres, a mere one-mile hike from the famous Rainbow Trail. This cabin is in pristine condition, with a new metal roof, new septic system and fresh exterior paint. It retains the original cabin's rustic charm and authentic attributes, including natural pine walls and ceilings. A wood-burning Franklin stove/fireplace provides an idyllic mountain-home ambience, while taking off summer evenings’ chill. The property is as neatly maintained as the cabin. Considerable fire mitigation has already been done-trees thinned and trimmed. Youngsters will enjoy the outdoor “park” area, complete with a long rope swing, a zip line and a log see-saw. Since the cabin's furnishings, dishes, linens, etc. are included—even multiple stacks of split firewood-it’s ready for new owners to enjoy their private mountain escape for years to come.
