The history of Littleton is very interesting. The City of Littleton is named after Richard Sullivan Little who was an engineer hired to lay out the waterways. He loved the area so much that soon he and his wife moved here from New Hampsire and started to farm. Soon they subdivided their land into the City of Littleton. Littleton was incorporated (by a vote of the 245 townspeople) in 1890. Last year the City of Littleton won the award for the second-best small city in the U.S., according to a new WalletHub study.
